FAQ
Your questions answered
How to decide which stream to choose?
Start with yourself, not with what your friends are choosing. Look at three things together: the subjects you enjoy and do well in, your natural abilities (numerical, verbal, logical and spatial), and the kind of work you may want later. Then check which stream keeps those careers open. A psychometric assessment, and a discussion with a counsellor and your parents, turn this into a clear, reasoned choice.
How many streams are available after 10th?
After Class 10 there are three main streams for Classes 11–12: Science (with PCM, PCB or PCMB), Commerce (with or without Maths) and Arts or Humanities. Alongside these, you can choose a polytechnic diploma, an ITI trade or a vocational course. The subject combination within a stream matters as much as the stream itself.
Which stream is easy after 10th?
No stream is easy for everyone — the right one feels easier because it matches your strengths. A student who enjoys numbers and logic may find Science manageable but struggle with essay-heavy Arts subjects, and the reverse is just as common. Choosing a stream only because it looks easy often leads to regret in Class 11; choose the one which fits your abilities and interests.
What are some good career assessment tests for teenagers?
Good career assessments for teenagers combine interest inventories, aptitude tests and personality questionnaires, are designed for their age group and compare results with students at the same stage. CBSE’s Tamanna aptitude test for Classes 9–10 is one school-level example. Whichever you use, choose a scientifically built test whose report is explained by a qualified counsellor — not a quick online quiz.
