Your questions answered
Is it a good idea to change jobs after 2 years?
Often, yes — two years is usually enough to learn the role and build a track record, and a well-chosen move can speed up your growth. It makes sense when you have stopped learning, the next step is not available where you are, or the new role clearly builds your skills. Avoid moving only for a small pay rise, and make sure each move tells a clear story on your CV.
What is the 30-60-90 rule for a new job?
It is a simple plan for your first three months. In the first 30 days you learn — the team, the tools and what is expected of you. By 60 days you start contributing on your own and take on real tasks. By 90 days you take ownership, suggest improvements and agree your next goals with your manager. Writing your own 30-60-90 plan helps you settle in faster.
What is the best advice for the first day of a new job?
Arrive a little early, listen more than you speak and ask questions — nobody expects you to know everything on day one. Learn names, understand what your manager expects in the first few weeks, and note down processes as you learn them. Be friendly with everyone, and treat the first day as the start of building trust, not as a test.
