FAQ

Your questions answered

How do I know I’m in the wrong career?

Common signs are lasting dread about work rather than a bad week, no interest in getting better at what you do, envy of people in other fields, and skills you enjoy using going unused. The key question is whether the problem is the career itself or something fixable — your role, manager, workload or company. An honest check across these areas tells you which.

What are some signs that I’m in a bad job?

Warning signs include constant stress or exhaustion, a manager or culture that drains you, no learning or growth, unclear or shifting expectations, and pay or recognition well below the value you add. A bad job is not always a bad career — often a different role, team or employer in the same field fixes it.

What are five signs that I’ve outgrown my job?

Five common signs: the work no longer challenges you, you have stopped learning anything new, you are doing work well below your ability, your ideas and ambitions don’t fit the role any more, and the next step up is not available where you are. Outgrowing a job is usually a signal to level up, not to change careers.

What are 10 signs that it’s time to quit my job?

Signs include lasting burnout, a toxic culture, no growth for a long time, values that clash with the company’s, being consistently underpaid, a bad fit with your manager, health suffering, dreading every workday, better opportunities you keep turning down, and no fix after you have raised the issues. Before quitting, check whether the problem is fixable — and line up your next move first.
